John Ishimwe is a young man born in Rwanda in the year 1985.Rwanda is a small, lush country often referred to as “the land of a thousand hills.” Rolling green landscapes, calm lakes, and mist-covered mountains define its breathtaking beauty.

John Ishimwe is a survivor of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide  and through unimaginable loss and hardship, emerged with an unbroken spirit and a deep commitment to share the truth of what happened. Today, he writes and speaks to preserve memory, inspire healing, and encourage hope, believing that every testimony is a light that guides future generations toward peace, unity, and humanity. Now living in Kenya, John Ishimwe continues to engage in community outreach, faith-based support, and educational work. This book is his heartfelt testimony, a journey of survival, resilience, and the enduring power of hope.
